How easy is it to get started?
Receive the telephones, plug them in to your router or hub and start making and receiving telephone calls.

Do I have to have a local area dialling code?
You can select whatever local dialling code is appropriate including: London, Manchester, Aberdeen or Leeds, including several different codes and some international codes are now available at a small premium.

How do I use my existing number?
You can ask your existing provider to divert incoming calls to your new VOIP telephone numbers and then request a permanent number transfer, which typically takes four weeks to complete.

Can I have music-on-hold?
Recordings for automated answer, customer information messages and music-on-hold can all be put on the system via the customer portal.

I want to put a cluster of new phones in a new office, how do I integrate with my existing telephone system?
Calls can be transferred between existing and new systems using the remote transfer facility. This enables calls to be transferred between the VOIP system and the switched network and also the switched network to VOIP system, provided this feature is supported by the existing PABX.

How do I move the telephone system to a new office?
Provided the new location has a broadband connection, just plug the telephones into the new network and start using them. There is no cost or delay associated with moving your business to another location.

How do I send and receive a FAX?
You can attach a fax machine to the telephone line which supports the broadband connection or you can attach a fax machine to an analogue adapter with a separate number. For incoming fax only, the fax to email service is a low cost alternative to a fax machine.

How do I divert calls to a mobile or other telephone?
This is a standard selectable option through the customer portal.  Calls can be diverted automatically after a preset time for out of hours or remote workers.

How reliable is the service?
Provided your telephone line and broadband connection is working correctly, the system is as reliable as your Internet connection. If there is an electricity supply failure, you can still continue use your original telephone line for incoming and outgoing and emergency 999 calls as with a traditional PABX. In the event you are not able to receive calls for any reason, the voice mail facility will forward incoming messages by email.

Can I call 999 or 112 emergency Services ?
Yes.  There is an option within the control panel for users to enter a physical location address, so the emergency services know the actual location of the call.

What is the quality of the calls like ?
Call quality is totally dependant on the Internet availability.   With a good low contention ADSL service, call quality will be better than a standard telephone line.   Band Telecom can supply a VoIP optimised ADSL service which can support up to 8 concurrent high quality calls.
